the day after yesterday
Christmas was a huge success in our house, and now, for what feels like the first time in weeks all is quite. The wee Logan is in bed and Hunter is off for a 3 day visit with his grandparents. I have lots of “Christmas Cleanup” to do, but tonight I am going to snuggle up on the couch and watch tv. I also plan on going to bed early.
For me, the new year begins on Christmas. I know that’s not official in any way, but it’s how things work in my life. Plans for the new year are churning in my head as I type. Organization is one of the main things on my list for this coming year. I need to find a way to better organize my time so that I can get the most out of each day. Time for me, time with the kids, time to keep the house the way that I like it, time for the husband unit, time to work and time to do things that I enjoy…. time to find the pieces of myself that seem to have been lost in the last couple of years.
I want to get back to some level of designing. I need to get back to my “real job” in a kind of full time capacity. I need to eat better and exercise more. I need to find a way to get the clean laundry folded and put away instead of letting it sit in the laundry room. These things seem trivial, but they’re important to me.
Logan turns 2 next weekend. It’s hard to believe that these 2 years have gone so fast. He’s so big!
I just ran into a opossum on the back porch while I was taking the garbage out and am feeling gross and freaked out. Ewww… I hate those things. I’m scared to go back out with another load of garbage. I don’t want to see him again…
Rambling done for the day, but my goal is to blog at least 3 times a week in the next year. I also will post pictures and layouts and other fun things… AND I think that I am going to do project 365 this year, so you’ll be seeing lots of that.
Good night, sweet dreams, don’t let the bed bugs (or opossums) bite!

Great to hear from you again, Anna, and hope the new year brings the changes you are working toward! I just finished a 365 Days project through Flickr - a full year of self portraits, and it did wonders for my photography skills; it’s amazing how the discipline of having to do something every day just forces you to get over the hump and DO it, even on days that aren’t as good as you had hoped, knowing you’ll have another chance the next day.
Anyhow, Happy New Year, looking forward to reading at least three times a week

I actually had no idea what an opossum was until I looked it up lol! Looks kinda cute but I’d probably run screaming if I bumped into one in the dark unexpectedly. I tend to hibernate over Christmas & NY, but your way sounds better…good luck with organizing and happy birthday to Logan!

um = possum, yuck.
I hear you on the laundry thing - can’t seem to get it into drawers, but recently have gotten much better about getting it at least folded in a basket!
so glad to see you hear again - I support your blogging goal for 2009 whole heartedly!!

Good to see you are getting organized Anna! I hope some of it will rub off on me ROFL. I tried the 365 project last year and I think I made it to ummmm February LOL. Oh and the only opossums I have seen have been on Ice Age 2 and over the hedge and i have to admit as cartoons they were kinda cute hehe

HAPPY NEW YEAR ANNA!!!!
Holy cow, I can’t believe that Logan is 2 already! Where has the time gone? I’m with you on better organization this year, and am going to hold us both to it.
You have been busy busy with two little ones, but I know you — you have passed that critical point now with Mr. Logan, and now that he’s a bit older, I can just picture you getting back down to business. YAY!
Sending you tons of L O V E for this new year, punkin.
XOOXO
