solved!
Well, I didn’t manage to get very much crossed off of my “to do” list today, but the one thing that I did take care of was really the most important one so I feel quite a bit of weight taken off of my shoulders.
Daycare has been taken care of! We found a wonderful place for Logan to go three mornings a week. It is just a stone throw from T’s office and not all that much further from our house (we live just about a mile from T’s work) and I was really impressed. The whole place was bright and sunny and friendly and funny enough, quiet. There were at least 25 kids ranging from teeny tiny to 5 years old there when we visited this afternoon and it was really a very peaceful environment.
The kids in each age group were engaged with play or teacher guided activities. There was no screaming, no crying and no one that seemed really out of control (even Logan was well behaved). And when the maintenence crew for the building came in to say that they were going to have to shut the lights off for 90 minutes the staff handled letting the kids know (and the lights actually going out) really really well.
Logan had a really good visit too.
The load that has come off of my shoulders is huge and I’ll be returning to the daycare center tomorrow to give them all of the things that they need and my enrollment fee. It looks like Logan will go three mornings a week for 4-5 hours. The price is a little steep, but if I can use the majority of that time to work then it will be completely worth it. They will also be flexible if I have doctor appointments that run late or need to change things around to accomodate surgeries or other things that might come up.
We’ll start up for real on the 1st of March, but have a “practice” day sometime next week.
Other than that, my day was pretty quiet and uneventful. I made spicy corn chowder and grilled provolone cheese sandwiches for dinner tonight (I’ll get the corn chowder recipe up in the next couple of days… because everyone raves over it and it is super easy to make). I had soup. Again.
Survivor was on tonight and I don’t have much to say about anything from this episode. So far the whole “Heroes -vs- Villians” thing has not grabbed me by the throat and made me excited…. especially with this business of reusing challenges from past seasons.
I think my spell check is broken for the site which is making me crazy. Please ignore typos and the fact that I cannot spell this late at night for the time being…. it’s on my list of things “to do” and/or “to fix”.
I bought garbage cans and light bulbs for my studio today and have plans to spend a couple of hours in there on Saturday getting it ready for return to work…. and I will (hopefully) do some actual work in there on Sunday. I really do plan to be back doing my thing by the 1st of March.
I’m still working out some of the kinks that come from doing things on two different computers (this includes moving pictures and photos and resources around a bit and installing software that I need on both) but I feel a little more in control than I did a week ago.
Still rocking this business of blogging every day and really (as I have said before) feeling proud of myself for keeping it up. This is another step in finding my “new normal”.
My warm and toasty bed is beckoning me to curl up and think about trying to sleep so I think that I am going to do just that. Have a really wonderfully happy Friday everyone. Perhaps photos and pretty pictures and other good stuff will find the blog over the weekend.

Yay!! The day care sounds great, thank goodness. Sounds like you’re doing really well with your “to do” list… that’s good for your well-being, sense of accomplishment. Good “juju”
