back in the swing… (and a freebie)

Finally, I am back, with most of my wits about me and ready to rock and roll. This last month has indeed been strange and full of many more exciting bits and pieces than I imagined it would be. Somehow I thought that Tim’s “visit” home would be calm and relaxing but it turned out to be quite a whirl-wind of excitement. It was wonderful to have him home and it was sad to watch him leave again, but I simply look forward to the time when he’ll be back “for good” and I know that we have a wonderful journey ahead of us.

Everything seems to be in order with the purchase of the little blue house. The inspection went well, most of the paperwork is done, and I am eagerly putting together color palates and making lists of things that I am going to need. Right now we’re just waiting for the VA to do the appraisal and for the 25th of May which is our closing date.

Since T left on the first of May I have been buried in work and family stuff, but today I took a little bit of time to make up a wee freebie for all of you. Just some little velveteen flowers to decorate your pages with. I have several big “kits” in various stages of completion and you should expect to see at least one of those before I start packing up and getting ready to move.

Once we’re in the little blue house my productivity should soar! For the first time since I started working from home I will actually have my very own studio! This means that I won’t have to battle “the boys” for space and that when I need to be separated from the rest of the family I can be. Hunter will have a play room right off of my space, so he’ll be close, but not “in my face” when he’s playing and I’m working. (Hunter has never had much interest in me as far as play. He’d rather sit in his room and build huge towers out of Legos and tell himself silly stories than hang out with his mommy.)

Now that I’ve managed to babble on about pretty much nothing I’ll close with the freebie which you can download here:

Papers and elements for today’s to do list are from Jen Wilson’s Soho Sass with a couple of my little velveteen flowers thrown in for good measure.
